Movie Review: Black Adam!

Black Adam (2022)

It’s been a long road to get here, but at long last the minghty Black Adam has arrived in his own movie, with none other than Dwayne Johnson in the role. The type of casting that’s so perfect it shouldn’t have workd, Black Adam is the latest installment in the ever-fluctuating DCEU, a movie universe that has had it’s fair share of ups and downs since its inception. As the first DC film starring a non-A list character, and considering the behind the scenes drama with Warner Bros Discovery, there’s a lot riding on Black Adam to be a success. And if we were in the year 2007, when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was first cast as Black Adam, this movie would have been one of the biggest superhero events of the year.

DC Fandemonium

o2qtVZRieyvqJfcKeeqQUg-1200-80DC’s Fandome event was the first of its kind: a virtual convention meant to hype up all of their upcoming film, comic, TV, and video game projects, and to be completely honest, it went off (mostly) without a hitch. While there was the occasional delay, the event took over the twitter world by storm, giving us the first looks at upcoming games like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, as well as new and first time trailers for Wonder Woman 84, James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, Zack Snyder’s mythical Justice League: The Snyder Cut, and Matt Reeve’s The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson.

It was a wide ranging event, and while we didn’t get news on EVERYTHING (The Flash, Aquaman 2, Shazam: Fury of the Gods, and Black Adam are still too new for any footage), we did get a lot of really enticing and exciting things, and to be perfectly honest, DC and Warner Bros have set the stage for how future events should be presented.
