MOVIE REVIEW!!!

Tenet (2020)

Starring: John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh

Directed By: Christoper Nolan

NOTE: This movie was watched at a pop-up drive in theater within COVID-19 guidelines with social distancing and other safety measures in place. Anyone choosing to attend a movie theater can do so at their own risk, but should really look into the serious risks that attend with seeing a movie in a theater. Check out this article from the A.V. Club that gives a good idea of if you should go to the movies in a theater (hint: it’s a big ol’ NO).

MILD SPOILERS (though to be honest, it’s hard to explain anyways)

It’s no secret that 2020 has been a rough year for the multiplex. With a virus that is nowhere near under control causing many major studios to delay or cancel their big releases for this year, the box office has been looking dim for many movie fans. However, Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros have been hell bent on releasing Tenet this year in hopes of saving the movie theater experience, and whether you think that’s courageous or fool-hardy, the latest mind-bending blockbuster from the director behind The Dark Knight, Inception, and Interstellar is back with a new story that’s set to leave you both in awe of the spectacle, and have you looking for the nearest textbook on time theories.

DC Fandemonium

o2qtVZRieyvqJfcKeeqQUg-1200-80DC’s Fandome event was the first of its kind: a virtual convention meant to hype up all of their upcoming film, comic, TV, and video game projects, and to be completely honest, it went off (mostly) without a hitch. While there was the occasional delay, the event took over the twitter world by storm, giving us the first looks at upcoming games like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, as well as new and first time trailers for Wonder Woman 84, James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, Zack Snyder’s mythical Justice League: The Snyder Cut, and Matt Reeve’s The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson.

It was a wide ranging event, and while we didn’t get news on EVERYTHING (The Flash, Aquaman 2, Shazam: Fury of the Gods, and Black Adam are still too new for any footage), we did get a lot of really enticing and exciting things, and to be perfectly honest, DC and Warner Bros have set the stage for how future events should be presented. But let’s nail down the biggest things from the twenty four-hour event. Read the rest of this entry

The Bat and the Furious

Batmobile-1_1200_589_81_sNow that we’ve got our first look at Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit (both officially and unofficially) it’s time to start revealing other famous aspects of the Dark Knight. Namely, his car. Read the rest of this entry

The Batman Rises

rs_1024x544-200213153621-1024-robert-pattinson-as-batmanAt long last, we’ve finally got our first look at Robert Pattinson’s Batman outfit, and it looks…pretty sweet! Eschewing the more grounded take that Batman V Superman had (and I was a fan of), Pattinson’s new Batsuit is like a cool mix between the Arkham Games and a little bit of Sean Murphy’s White Knight look, and it’s definitely something that fits right into what director Matt Reeves described as “something Bruce Wayne would make for himself”. The Bat, The Cat, and The ?????

the-batman-villains-jonah-hill-riddler-penguin-comicbookcom-1188756-1280x0Now that Robert Pattinson has signed on to answer the bat-signal, it’s time to start filling out the rest of Gotham, and what better place to start than with one of the Batman’s closet allies, Commissioner Gordon. While many were expecting that we’d see J.K. Simmons’ return to the role after Justice League, but after that film’s underperformance, it looks like Gordon is getting put into the reboot machine as well, and now he’s being played by none other than Westworld‘s Jeffrey Wright. The Rise of Battinson

s0rRXNiAfter some unverified reports a few weeks ago, we can finally confirm who our next Batman will be. After months of speculation, the next Dark Knight is none other than Robert Pattinson, the man made famous thanks to the Twilight Saga. It’s a surprising development, but one that I’m pretty intrigued by, and no one is more surprised by that statement than myself. Read the rest of this entry
