It’s been a long road to The Batman, the first solo Batman film in a decade. What originally started as an adventure for Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader (which he was initially going to write and direct) has now become another reset of the Dark Knight, this time with a new director in War For the Planet Of Apes‘ Matt Reeves, and a new Bruce Wayne under the cowl with Robert Pattinson. It’s very much NOT set in the larger DCEU that contained Affleck’s Batman or any of the previous events of Batman V Superman and Justice League. No, this is a brand new spin on the Batman, and many people may be asking: “Another reboot of Batman? What is left to do here? And can this be any good?”

Shockingly, yes.
