The Predator franchise has been struggling as of lately. After the lackluster response to Shane Black’s The Predator, and Disney acquiring Fox, it seemed everyone’s favorite dread-locked spine-ripper was forgotten. But Prey,the latest in the long running franchise, is here to stake its claim as a bonafide genre classic, and the simple premise makes it stand out not only from other Predator films, but solidifies it as the best since the 1987 original.
