Starring: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

Directed By: James Wan

What if I told you that one of the best movies to come out of DC and Warner Bros’ current lineup of films was one starring Arthur Curry, aka the Aquaman? You’d think I was crazy, right? Well, believe it, because James Wan’s Aquaman is one of the most entertaining superhero movies to come along from the studio, mainly because of how it embraces every aspect of the character, no matter how goofy it is. At times, the Jason Momoa-led film almost borders on sensory overload with how much is thrown on the screen, almost as if this was Warner Bros, looking at the returns for Justice League, saying “well, we don’t have anything else left to lose, we might as well put everything into this one Aquaman movie”. It’s a bombastic, over the top, incredibly goofy film, and I loved every minute of it. Read the rest of this entry

My Man!

aquaman-jason-momoa-trailer-08It should come as no surprise, but I’m going to say it anyways: I am 100%, completely on board with Aquaman.

After the muted response to Justice League, news of any film connected to the DCEU has become so scattershot that it would make anyone’s head spin. Sure, Wonder Woman‘s sequel and James Wan’s Aquaman are coming down the line (and both look pretty cool), but then there’s also the currently filming Shazam, Ava Duvernay’s New Gods film, a Batgirl movie, a Nightwing movie, Matt Reeves’ untitled (and possibly unAfflecked) Batman film, and not one, but three films put into development starring the clown prince of the crime himself, The Joker. What’s In A Cinematic Universe Anyways?

indexWarner Bros has been making quite the headlines lately, with the announcement of a solo Joker movie (produced by Martin Scorsese no less), ANOTHER Joker movie set in the DCEU featuring Jared Leto and Margot Robie, and major updates on the upcoming Matt Reeves directed Batman movie: namely, that it won’t be part of the DCEU film universe, only to then be announced that it IS part of the DCEU universe, but won’t feature other characters from the DC movies.
