Best of 2019!

The year of our lord 2019 was a bit of a mess in a lot of ways, but when it came to pop culture, you’d never have known it. From finally hearing the words “Avengers Assemble” on the big screen to being acquainted with a little guy we’ve all called “Baby Yoda”, 2019 sure had a lot of fantastic things to distract us from the hell place we currently call “reality”. TV Review: Watchmen!

Damon Lindelof took the sacred text of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons and not only breathed new life into it, he also cast the whole original text in a brand new light with the additions he made with the new series. It’s not only one of the best shows of the year, I’d argue it’s THE best show of the year, and is one of the best comic book adaptations of all time. Read the rest of this entry

TV Review: Watchmen!

After a fairly successful adaptation with Zack Snyder’s 2009 film, you’d be forgiven for wondering what was left to mine from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ masterwork. But Leftovers creator Damn Lindelof signed on board, with the promise to do something “unique and different” with the project, and I’d say that he’s definitely accomplished that so far. Two Minutes To Doomsday

slack-imgsEver since the final pages of DC Universe Rebirth, comic fans have waited with bated breath for more information on the shocking revelation that Dr. Manhattan was (probably) behind the DC’s “New 52” reboot. We’ve been getting a few more details in “The Button” storyline that’s been playing out in current issues of Batman and The Flash, but now we’ve got a real-deal next installment in the ongoing “DC Rebirth Saga”: Doomsday Clock.
