While Metal is still going strong for DC comics, the event is going to come to an end pretty soon, so the publisher is starting up the “New Age of Heroes”. Designed to introduce new and returning characters to the post-Metal DC landscape, the line has some of DC’s best writers and artist working together to create new characters for the DC universe. All New All Different Marvel has begun, and with it comes Doctor Strange, which brings the Sorcerer Supreme back to a monthly series. With the team of Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo (and the fact that there’s a movie coming out in a about a year) there’s a lot riding on this first issue of Doctor Strange.  1872 has been one of the stranger Secret Wars tie-ins, but it’s also one of the ones with the most charm too. Seeing Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and other Marvel mainstays through the prism of the old West has been really interesting, and Gerry Duggan’s script has had a lot of fun playing in this world. While 1872 has seemed like it’s been on the outskirts of Marvel’s massive event, with this issue it’s starting to show that it may have a larger role in the future of the Marvel universe than we originally thought.
