Written by longtime Spidey writer Dan Slott and drawn by Humberto Ramos, the new start for Spidey finally brings us some insight into Peter’s feelings about the world around him, even though the main story doesn’t offer us quite as much information as I would’ve liked. We’re one step closer to “Goblin Nation”, but first, Dan Slott brings us the showdown we’ve been waiting for: no, not Peter Parker vs. Otto Octavius, Green Goblin vs. Hobgoblin!

That’s right, Superior Spider-Man #26 brings the two major Goblins head to head, and it takes quite a few different twists and turns throughout the course of the match. Slott’s script for these pages is packed to the brim of possible revelations and great dialogue, even if it is hard to follow in some parts.  Read the rest of this entry

Welcome Back Mr. Parker

spider-man 1Surprise, surprise, Peter Parker is coming back to the land of the living. Of course, anyone with a brain should’ve been able to figure this out once the release date for Amazing Spider-man 2 was announced.  Yes, Peter’s finally going to be placed back in his own body in the newly announced Amazing Spider-Man #1 arriving in April. Marvel is hoping to attract that mythical “new reader” who has been intrigued by the trailers for Spidey’s next cinematic adventure.  Of course I’m excited. My all time favorite superhero is coming back!

But I’m not ready.  In the 25 issues that he’s inhabited Peter’s body, I’ve come to actually enjoy Otto Octavius’ attempts to become a hero. Read the rest of this entry

2014 Nerd Preview!

2014 is only a few weeks old, and now that we’ve gotten the best and worst of 2013 out of the way, it’s time to look at some of the upcoming nerd events for the coming year. From Ghost Rider’s return to comics to Spider-Man’s new big screen adventure, 2014 looks to be a pretty exciting time for nerds, even though 2015 is going to be the year the big dogs come out to play.
