Superman No More?

gallery-1510933656-batman-v-superman-henry-cavillIf the rumors are to be believed, then Henry Cavill may be giving up the role of the Man of Steel. A lot as happened since the day that the Cavill bombshell dropped, but since then there’s been really nothing about Cavill’s role in the DCEU. Aside from a very cryptic response from Warner Bros, and an even weirder Instagram post from Cavill, we comic fans are still left with nothing that really tells us definitively if Cavill is truly out or not and as the weeks go by, that gets pretty frustrating. Directed by: Zack Snyder

MINOR SPOILERS

It’s been a long road to Justice League. After numerous false starts, a George Miller almost directed movie, and Batman V Superman, it’s finally time for DC’s all stars to take the stage on the big screen. But after a troubled development that saw Zack Snyder have to step down due to a family tragedy, which caused Joss Whedon to step in and handle reshoots, the League has finally assembled, and the hopes and dreams of the entire DCEU rest upon it. With so much riding on Justice League, and the amount of work involved in making it, being worried about the end result is a legitimate concern. But amazingly, Justice League does mostly work, especially when it comes to correcting the mistakes that Warner Bros and Zack Snyder made in previous DCEU efforts. Read the rest of this entry

SPOILERS

Three years. Three years of casting rumors, movie announcements, news of the studio being afraid of the finished project, and of fans wondering if Warner Bros could pull off their own cinematic universe based on the characters in DC comics. It’s been a long road, but we’re finally here. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been released, and with it, the DC Cinematic Universe has begun. Read the rest of this entry

The DC Cinematic Universe Begins….

DC_has_big_plans_through_2018_or_do_they__article_story_largeLast week word got out regarding Warner Bros.’ plans for their DC properties, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect, except for one dark and brooding exception. But before I get into that, here’s the prospective list leaked by former Deadline founder Nikki Finke (which is subject to change): Read the rest of this entry

Justice League of Steel

GalleryChar_1900x900_JusticeLeague_52ab8e54d0a6f0.42170553So what we were long expecting has now come to pass: Zack Snyder is directing the rumored Justice League film, and that movie will follow Batman vs. Superman/Man of Steel 2. What does this mean? Well, for one, I can finally stop worrying so damn much about the Man of Steel sequel, and it probably means that both Justice League and MoS 2 will be filming back to back.

Now this isn’t a major stretch, but it does seem like the most likely scenario for Warner Bros to take. By the time Justice League hits theaters in 2017, Marvel will have put out a second Avengers film, as well as new entries for Captain America, and (presumably) Thor. If you thought Hollywood was “Marvel” now, then just wait a few years when their lead will be almost insurmountable. This is WB’s last ditch attempt to get Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the rest of the league on the big screen, and hopefully by then the “normies” in the audience won’t be burnt out on super hero flicks.
