The Wheel of Ka Turns….

IMG-5477.JPGThis week, it was quietly announced that Amazon is going to start production on a Dark Tower series this Spring. Which means that yes, I am officially back on the hype train for an adaptation of one of my favorite book series, even though I know that it will undoubtedly let me down. I sat through the lackluster film adaptation released a few years ago, and while it had a few glimmers of what I wanted from a Dark Tower project, the end result was a far cry from the epic tale that the series deserved. But now, it seems like Amazon’s plan could be the project that gives this series the spotlight it requires. Read the rest of this entry

The Worst of 2017!

marvel-inhumansAh yes, the end of the year. A time to reflect on all the awesome nerd stuff we experienced in 2017. But this isn’t time to celebrate just yet. Oh no. Before we get to the good stuff, we’ve got to tear down the bad one last time. While 2017 had some amazing highs for movies, TV, and comic books, it also had some embarrassing lows, including one that hurts so much I’m just going to get it out of the way first…. The Five Fandoms

We’re all fans of stuff. That much is certain. But some of us are fans of more than just one or two things. Some of us have our fandom split amongst multiple different characters, genres, and mediums. Just like we don’t all have one specific thing that makes us who we are, not all of us are obsessed with one thing. A lot of our different fandoms bleed into others, and allow us to diversify our nerdy interests. So, with that in mind, I’ve coined the term the “Five Fandoms”, and figured I’d share my five and why they’re so important to me. While they all move up and down this list, these are the five pop culture things that take up the most space in my brain, for better or worse. Read the rest of this entry
