Nathan Edmondson and Mitch Gerads bring their stellar run on Frank Castle to a close this week, and man, does The Punisher #20 deliver. Everything about this issue works: from the writing, to the pacing, to the panel layouts. While this isn’t the end of Frank Castle, it’s definitely a great way for Edmondson and Gerads to put a stamp on their run, and cements them as one of the best teams to work on the character. Strange Times Ahead For Marvel

allnewalldifferentmarvel-138579We’ve all been waiting for Marvel to announce their books post-Secret Wars, and now with the release of the All-New All-Different Marvel preview book, we’ve gotten a look at some of the new titles coming our way this fall. And boy, Marvel sure is living up to the All-Different part of the initiative. From a Howling Commandos book to a series starring Carnage, there’s lots of new offbeat series to come.  From the first issue, Magneto has been one of my favorite Marvel books. An awesome look into the mind of Eric Lensherr, the Cullen Bunn and Gabriel Hernandez Walta solo title has made Magneto into a protector of Mutantkind once more, and this issue brings Magneto’s slow-burning conflict with SHIELD to a head. Superior Spider-Man reaches its monumental finale with issue 31, and writers Dan Slott and Christos Gage, alongside artist Giuseppe Camuncoli, don’t disappoint. Fans who have been waiting for Peter Parker to return to his body and bring the hurt to the Green Goblin will have plenty to cheer about, as the final issue serves as a great ending point for this chapter of the wall-crawler’s life.
