Last year’s Avengers: No Surrender was an entertaining, if a little over long, success for Marvel. Naturally, that means the publisher has set up a sequel with Avengers: No Road Home. But unlike Surrender, this event won’t be taking the place of the main Avengers title during it’s run. Instead, it’ll serve as it’s own series that’ll run alongside the current Avengers title (probably because it’s selling better than when No Surrender came out). However, as good as this opening issue is, I’m not quite sure that the combined forces of Mark Waid, Jim Zub, Al Ewing, and Paco Medina are enough to convince readers to buy another Avengers title. All New All Different Marvel has begun, and with it comes Doctor Strange, which brings the Sorcerer Supreme back to a monthly series. With the team of Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo (and the fact that there’s a movie coming out in a about a year) there’s a lot riding on this first issue of Doctor Strange. Thankfully, Aaron and Bachalo’s debut issue is a lot of fun., and the perfect book for people who are looking to be introduced to the character. Read the rest of this entry

Strange Times Ahead For Marvel

allnewalldifferentmarvel-138579We’ve all been waiting for Marvel to announce their books post-Secret Wars, and now with the release of the All-New All-Different Marvel preview book, we’ve gotten a look at some of the new titles coming our way this fall. And boy, Marvel sure is living up to the All-Different part of the initiative. From a Howling Commandos book to a series starring Carnage, there’s lots of new offbeat series to come.
