COMIC REVIEWS!!!

imagesBatman: Arkham Knight Batgirl & Harley Quinn #1 (DC Comics)

She has one of the better Arkham Knight DLC missions, and now Batgirl is starring in her own Arkham Knight one-shot special issue. With Harley Quinn tagging along, Batman: Arkham Knight Batgirl & Harley Quinn is a look into the origins of the “Arkhamverse” versions of Barbara Gordon and Dr. Harleen Quinnzel, and while this isn’t a masterpiece of the comic book art form, the Tim Seeley and Matthew Clark issue is still a really solid comic. Comic Reviews: Arkham Knight Genesis and Ant-Man!

COMIC REVIEWS!!

Batman-Arkham-Knight-Genesis-720x1106Arkham Knight Genesis #1 (of 6) (DC Comics)

First things first, if you haven’t beaten the story mode in Arkham Knight, you should not read this comic (that should be apparent from a comic with the title Arkham Knight Genesis). I’ll do my best to not reveal the identity of the Arkham Knight in this review, but know that you WILL find out who Arkham Knight is within the first few pages if this issue, so if you haven’t played the game yet, you’ve been warned. If you have played the game, you won’t get too much new information about the Arkham Knight that you didn’t already know before, but writer Peter J Thomasi and artist Alison Borges do present an interesting spin on the character’s origin that’s really entertaining. Developer: Rocksteady

Publisher: Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment

Systems: Playstation 4, XBOX One, PC

MINOR SPOILERS

I’ve finally done it. I’ve beaten Arkham Knight.

Well, that’s not entirely true. I’m at 96%, with every side mission finished except for the Riddler trophies, of which I’m slowly working through to get 100% completion. However, which only 4% remaining in the game, I’d say that I’ve played plenty of the game to pass along some of my thoughts on it. Read the rest of this entry

Like any child of the 90’s, I loved Spawn. However, like many people, I haven’t read anything featuring the character in years. In fact, the last issue of Todd McFarlane’s demonic superhero that I read was issue 200, which was pretty much incomprehensible to a lapsed Spawn reader like myself. Well, in steps Spawn Resurrection, a special one-shot issue by the new creative team of Paul Jenkins and Jonboy, designed to bring readers up to speed for the return of Al Simmons, the original Spawn. And I have to say, while it’s a very exposition heavy book, Spawn Resurrection succeeds in getting me interested in the character again. Read the rest of this entry

Comic Book Video Games That Should Exist

best-superhero-games-x-men-arcadeHow about that Arkham Knight game play video shown at E3? Pretty sweet, right?  Rocksteady’s new game looks like it’ll truly be the “ultimate Batman experience” that it’s being hyped as. However, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish that we had more comic book based games being thrown at us. Yes, there are quite a few that come out in a calendar year, but they’re not all great. For every Arkham game there’s four X-Men: Destiny being shoved at us. There’s a lot of awesome material in comics that video games haven’t touched yet, so let’s take a look at some that I think would be awesome to see on a PC or  console. Read the rest of this entry
